Our yardstick, in plain sight
Five questions put to every hotel, answered in prose rather than points.
One: sleep first
From the moment the bags hit the kerb to the final checkout, we follow the guest: neighbourhood, building, bedroom comfort and the sights reachable without a car. The casino gets logged next to the gym and the valet stand, and it has no power to move a resort up or down.
Two: sentences, never scores
bisreydplay publishes zero stars, zero point totals and zero borrowed review averages. Each place in the order is an editor's decision, argued in ordinary sentences.
Three: no price tag on a position
Hotels, brands and their agencies have no route to buying entry or a higher rung. Our links to hotel homepages carry no affiliate codes, no commission arrangements and no booking engines.
The five questions
| Topic | What we ask |
|---|---|
| Place | Would you travel to this destination even without the resort, and can you explore it on foot, by rail or by boat? |
| Building | Does its shape, its past or its position make the hotel memorable? |
| Bedroom | Floor space, daylight, the view, and how much quality swings from one tower or wing to another. |
| Extras | Pools, spas, kitchens, gardens, stages and nearby outings that would justify the journey with the casino closed. |
| Fit | Which traveller walks away happiest, captured in the "Best for" line under every entry. |
Refresh cycle
We reread all ten entries on a set rhythm and jump in sooner when a resort announces new branding, renovation work or a shutdown. That month badge next to the list heading shows when the latest pass happened.
